Starting point
How do you make a region come alive online? The usual answers are sobering: a brochure website nobody visits twice, or scattered content, the magazine as a PDF, the weather on an ad-funded service, the hiking tips somewhere out on the web.
For the canton of Schwyz, Switzerland, that was not enough. What was needed was a place that connects tourism, local businesses and leisure in a lively way, with content that keeps visitors coming back instead of losing them after the first click.
Solution
We built a website that feels like an application, four building blocks, one place:
-
The magazine, right in the browser
The magazine edition can be leafed through on the website like on paper: no PDF download, no extra software. Read it wherever you are, on your phone too.
-
Hikes with everything that matters
Every tour documented with duration, distance and elevation gain, the details hikers actually decide on.
-
Weather without ads
A dedicated weather service for the region: location-precise, fast and completely ad-free. No flashing banners, no tracking. The way we build as a matter of principle.
-
The business directory
Local businesses, findable in one place, the platform brings the region not just visitors, but the businesses visibility.
All on one technical foundation, all of a piece, fast, on every device, with no external systems running in the background.
Result
Instead of a static brochure page, the canton has a platform people return to: for the weather in the morning, for the weekend hike, for the new magazine edition. That is exactly the difference between a website that exists, and one that gets used.
For the region's businesses, the platform is a shop window at the same time: visibility in the place visitors are already looking.
